Welcome back! We have an exciting year ahead! You can stay connected and give in numerous ways. Thank you for your contributions last year. We began building our class funds and sponsored many activities. Let’s gear up for 2019-2020! Your time and support are much needed and appreciated. Volunteer Homecoming: We are excited about the Homecoming theme this year of CAPtoons! We’ll work the weekends in September and October leading up to Homecoming to create the funniest skit and the most animated float. Come by and help our class build more memories! In August, we’ll send out information about the float building location and more details on how to contribute time and materials. Homecoming assembly, skit, parade and game will be Friday, October 11. Sadie’s: On Saturday, November 16, our class will host the Sadie Hawkins Dance! Sophomore students should definitely make plans to help decorate and attend. All BHS classes are invited to enjoy the first dance of the year! We’ll need parent help with decorating and supplies, set-up, clean-up, ticket sales, check-in, coat check (and shoe check!) and chaperoning. Staff Appreciation (May 2020): Another Broughton tradition is hosting a luncheon in the spring for our dedicated educators. It’s a wonderful way for us to thank our teachers and staff. You’ll have several opportunities to contribute to this highly anticipated event. Information will be sent out in March. Donate The Class of 2022 will have lots of adventures in the next three years - and we need your help. Homecoming, Sadie’s, and future events including Prom and Graduation depend on donations from families in our class. All donations are appreciated and can be made any time: https://my.cheddarup.com/c/bhs2022donation. Checks can be made out to “BHS Class of 2022” and mailed to our class treasurer, Tiffany Borkowski, 1900 Highland Place, Raleigh, NC 27607. This Fall, our class will also have a No Fuss Fundraiser. We’ll have specially designed Broughton items as a thank you for your support. Please see the enclosed green flyer for the Class of 2022! Parents and guest speakers will discuss school and age-related issues, share useful information with each other, and stay updated on class activities. First semester meetings will be September 12, October 10 and November 14. We plan to host evening Parent Chats and Parent Socials - a casual and enjoyable way to connect with other Sophomore parents. We’d love your feedback! Be on the lookout for a Parent Survey this summer and help us plan for future events. Many thanks to our class advisors Maria Childrey, Tina Bartlett, Cory Jenkins, and Anna Christian Allen for guiding us on this journey!
