Freshman Early Start Day: Freshman Early Start Day will be Wednesday, August 23rd from 9:00-11:15 am in the cafeteria. Freshmen will get their schedules, tour the school, and receive important information about Broughton. The building will remain open until 12:30 pm, so students can walk their schedules. Parents of freshmen are invited to attend one of two information sessions that will also be held on Wednesday, August 23rd in Broughton’s auditorium. Sessions will be led by Broughton parents, staff and counselors, who will go over suggestions and tips for 9th graders. Morning Session: 9:00-10:00 am Evening Session: 7:00-8:00 pm
Both sessions will conclude with question-and-answer time with Principal Elena Ashburn and Dean of Students Brent Sauls. Please plan to attend one of these sessions to get some valuable information for the school year.
Coming Up: Pizza Party: Broughton has a long-standing tradition that each class shares its first and last meal of high school on the front lawn. The Class of 2021 will begin their tradition with a pizza lunch, on the lawn, on Monday, August 28th. This event is funded by the Broughton PTSA, however we need volunteers to man the event. To sign up, please go to https://tinyurl.com/bhspizza.
Homecoming: Get ready for skits, a parade and football on Friday, October 6th! Our class will create a float for the parade, which goes around part of Cameron Village right after school Homecoming Friday. We’ll need plenty of creative students to help, as well as parents that are handy with tools. Mark your calendars and plan to help.
Donations: The Class of 2021 will have lots of fun in the next four years, but we need your help.
