A Message from Your PTSA Presidents, Lisa Bull and Pam Howard
Broughton PTSA Welcomes You
On behalf of the PTSA Board, we would like to extend a warm welcome to all the new and returning Capitals joining us for the 2020-2021 school year! We look forward to serving Broughton students, families and staff during this unique time as we start a new school year amid the COVID-19 crisis. Our continued commitment to enrich student and staff experiences remains our PTSA focus as we begin this unprecedented school year. The PTSA strives to support the highest standards of education and student well-being at our school and we are very fortunate to be a part of a community that is dedicated to the success of our students, teachers and staff. Some of the programs that we have funded and supported with our volunteer services are:
Student Programs and Activities (academic clubs, Reflections arts program, World Languages Night, Science Olympiad)
Teacher and Staff Support (volunteer support, teacher start-up supply funds, academic program grants, teacher appreciation
In order to make these things (and more) happen we need your support! We believe that the strength and involvement of our PTSA is an integral part of Broughton’s success. Please consider joining the PTSA as your support is needed for programming regardless of traditional in school or distance learning. In addition to your membership dues and generous financial donations which provide much of our funding for the year, it is your involvement in our PTSA that makes a real difference. There are so many ways to help and be involved at Broughton no matter how much time and energy you can share. Your continued support, whether it is your membership, knowledge, time or resources will make a difference at Broughton High School. How can you best support our PTSA and contribute to our school community?
Attend a Meeting! PTSA meetings are scheduled for September 2, November 4, February 17 and May 5 at 6:00 pm. These virtual meetings are a great way to get updates from Principal Ashburn, committee chairs, and fellow parents.
Give! Participate in our fundraising efforts and consider making a tax deductible contribution at bhs.memberhub.storeto help fund programs, grants, and technologies for students and faculty.
Volunteer! We have a number of PTSA committees including Hospitality, Community Advocacy, Building and Grounds, and many others that provide support for our students and staff. Sign up for these opportunities to volunteer at https://tinyurl.com/bhs-2020-21 or return the enclosed Volunteer Form insert.
We look forward to an exciting year and want to extend an invitation to each and every student and family to get involved in some way at Broughton High School. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions. Go Caps! Lisa Bull and Pam Howard firstname.lastname@example.org@gmail.com
