A Message from Your PTSA Presidents, Jill Marlowe and Ashley White
Broughton PTSA Welcomes You
Welcome to all new and returning Capitals! We look forward to an exciting 2019-2020 year and want to extend an invitation to each and every family to get involved in the Broughton community. The Parent Teacher Student Association strives to support the highest standards of education and student well-being at our school. Some of the programs that we have funded and supported with our volunteer services are:
Student Programs and Activities (academic clubs, Reflections arts program, World Languages Night, Science Olympiad)
Teacher and Staff Support (volunteer support, teacher start-up supply funds, academic program grants, teacher appreciation
In addition to the support that the PTSA gives the school through financial assistance and volunteer work, we are actively pursuing ways to strengthen our community's awareness and acceptance of each other's differences and challenges. We recognize that high school has academic and social pressures. Our goal is to continue to build a connected, compassionate and resilient community that accepts and supports one another. We are excited that our PTSA will sponsor a Teen Truth assembly for our students on September 23, which is specifically designed to address the social and emotional issues that students often face. Our hope is that this assembly will start conversations, empower all our students, and encourage an inclusive and cohesive school community.
Join the PTSA (bhs.memberhub.store or via the enclosed Membership Form). PTSA meetings are scheduled for August 28, October 2, February 19, and May 6 at 6:00 pm in the Media Center. These meetings are a great way to hear from Principal Ashburn, committee chairs, and fellow parents.
In addition to joining, please consider making a tax deductible contribution at bhs.memberhub.store to help fund programs, grants, and technologies for students and faculty.
Get Involved: We have a number of PTSA committees including Hospitality, Community Advocacy, Building and Grounds, and many others that provide invaluable support for our students and staff. Sign up for these opportunities athttps://tinyurl.com/bhs2019-20 or return the enclosed Volunteer Form insert.
Welcome to the Caps family and we look forward to serving you and our community. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions.
